Centers & Locations
Rooted in place, grounded in purpose.
Our locations span the geographic and biological diversity of Arizona, providing scalable opportunities for education, research and technological development. Our labs, greenhouses, fields, range lands, plants, and soils facilitate research and education in everything from sustainable agriculture to ecological change and biotechnologies.
Al Marah Equine Center
- Located just 11 miles east of the University of Arizona's main campus in the Tanque Verde valley.
- Al-Marah Equine Center is an equine breeding and training center that includes a breeding shed, 2 covered arenas, 2 outdoor arenas, and 48 stalls.
Campus Agricultural Center
- Located just 2 miles north of the University of Arizona's main campus, the Campus Agricultural Center is incubator for innovation and community-centered education.

Cracchiolo DK Ranch
- Cracchiolo DK Ranch provides experiential learning opportunities for Verde Valley's K-12 and Yavapai Community College students.
- Provides 25-acres of small fields for small ruminant production or micro green, vegetable gardens. The ranch includes a horse barn with paddocks, a small animal barn with turnouts, and two meeting rooms for presentations or classes.
Cyber Experiment Station
- Consists of a small team of data scientists, programmers and developers, cloud-solution experts, videographers, and telepresence engineers.
- Harnesses AI assisted tooling, native and web application development, cloud computing, and data-pipelines to enable discovery and extend scientific reach and translation.
Maricopa Agricultural Center
- The 2100-acre facility is a center of excellence for digital agriculture, autonomous systems, food safety, integrated pest management, and sustainable food solutions.
- Positioned to support research to optimize and preserve Arizona’s water, land, and energy resources.
Red Rock Agricultural Center
- Comprised of 4,600 acres, and 210 acres of irrigable space, with research area to provide large commercial scale replicates in crop production and ongoing entomological investigations into a variety of corn pests.
- Part of the Southern Arizona Experiment Station, the facility is largely used for hay cultivation to support the University of Arizona School of Animal Comparative Biomedical Sciences and College of Veterinary Medicine.
Safford Agricultural Center
- The 63-acre facility provides research and service to farmers in Southeastern Arizona.
- Serves as a performance testing site for the long staple cotton breeding program, as well as testing of new technologies and alternative crops for application in the region.
Santa Rita Experimental Range
- Santa Rita Experimental Range is a roughly 52,000-acre wildlands research facility 40-minutes south of Tucson.
- It is home to NSF's long-term (30-year commitment) National Ecological Observatory Network for the Southwest U.S, as well as one of the most expansive ecological data sets to document regenerative and sustainable management – including repeat photography dating back to 1902 and repeat measured vegetation transects dating back to 1953.
V Bar V Ranch
- Home to the University of Arizona's 350 head cattle herd, for which we have complete SNP genome data and twenty years of performance data.
- The ranch spans 3,800 ft in elevation range, offering researchers the opportunity to study ecological, environmental and climatic impacts on cattle production, health and abiotic stress.
Yuma Agricultural Center
- The Yuma Agricultural Center has two sites: a Valley farm four miles west of Yuma and a Mesa Farm four miles south of the city.
- The 274-acre Valley Farm includes a diversified range of crops, including cotton, small grains, and vegetables such as lettuce and broccoli. The 240-acre Mesa Farm is focused on citrus production.
